What's Happening

I'm really pleased I will be playing two Festivals in June 2021. On Sunday 20th, Studio 55 will be playing the Rising Spirit Festival in Dorchester and Saturday 26th, The Portland Coves are playing the Wincanton Town Festival. With two other duo gigs as well, it is a great start to live music!

August 2020
saw the release of a track, “Glandular Angela”, from my Exits single of 1978 on a Cherry Red compilation “1978 - the year the U.K. turned dayglo”.

The Coves

The first Coves CD is now available, containing 10 traditional and modern folk instrumentals from across Europe. Only £10 post free - email or text me. A few copies of my 1994 classical album of songs, and my 2016 EP "8 Songs for a Bad Sing" are also available - again contact me.

Saturday 5 September Clachan Village Hall, Tarbert, Argyll

From 1pm I will have selected instruments for sale at the Craft Fair, and then I am playing as part of the ceilidh from 7.30pm.

Amber Festival 2015

I'm very pleased to be able to confirm I will be playing at Dougie MacLean's prestigious Amber Festival in Dunkeld on Saturday 7 November 2015 at the Open Mic event.  Practice time!!

Tip of the Month

Cotton buds are brilliant for cleaning all the muck that accumulates in hard to get at places on instruments - and ordinary wax furniture polish can be used to help clean.

When changing strings on an instrument, try and replace them one by one, rather than all together. This keeps the tension on the neck as even as possible.

If you have a scratch on your electric guitar, you may find a nail varnish that matches - these are considerably cheaper than the original paints, even if you can get them.
